- Take 2 tablespoon gram flour

This fafda chutney has slight tang, zing to it and it comes from citric acid. If your yogurt is sour then reduce the citric acid amount. This chutney is usually served with fafda, gathiya and cholafali. The store bought one is yellowish white in color.
Instructions to make Fafada chutney:
- In a bowl add yogurt and half cup of water and mix well. Add in gram flour and whisk it so there is no lumps left. Add salt, sugar, cinnamon powder, citric acid and turmeric and whisk well. Set aside.
- In a pan add oil and heat on medium heat. Add in the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves. Once it starts fluttering add in the yogurt mix and stir continuously as it can form lumps. Slowly add in the other half cup water while stirring. Bring it to boil while stirring continuously. Cover and let it cook stirring occasionally until it starts forming film on the sides and sticks to the spoon. Remove and serve with fafda, muthia, patra etc.
Fafda Chutney is a delicious dip served with fafda gathiya and various bhajias, a famous snack in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Unlike other chutney recipes, this recipe uses gram flour as main ingredient and involves sautéing.
