- Melt butter and let it cool to room temperature.
- Beat eggs with vanilla and salt until light in colour.
- Add sugar gradually and beat 5 to 10 mins.
- Until mixture thick and drop down ribbon consistency.
- Sift in flour and add in egg mix and fold it in after each addition.
- Take about half egg mix and add in cool butter then mix this in remaining egg mix and fold it.
- Cover with cling and keep in the freeze for 90 mins.
- Preheat oven and brush mould with butter.
- Pour batter in moulds.
- And bake for 10 to 12 min till edges start to become light brown
- Remove from pan and put on wire rack.
- Make a glaze with given ingredients and dip half Madeleines in it.
Madeleines are a delightful little French butter cake. Their light sponge texture with crispy buttery edges makes them irresistible! Madeleine is a small butter cake in beautiful shell shape. I love Madeleines but I have never attempted to bake them at home. I would buy them at Costco, Starbucks, bakery or patisserie.
