- Take 150 gms Mangetout (valpapdi)
- Take 1 Onion medium sized
- Prepare 1 Potato medium sized
- Make ready 50 gms peanut
- Prepare 3 pieces Garlic finely chopped
- Take 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- Get 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- Make ready 1/2 tbsp salt
- Get 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- Get 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Prepare 1 tsp Dry Mango powder
- Prepare Pinch Asafoetida
- Take Chopped coriander for garnish
- Get 2 tbsp Oil
In place of fresh grated coconut you can use desiccated coconut to make this palak dish. Palak ki sabzi which is posted here takes very few ingredients without any masala and tastes delicious. It is perfect with plain rice and works wonders with rotis too. Palak ki sabzi actually tastes good if onions are used and palak is also made using tomatoes which shall be updated in my other palak posts.
Steps to make Valpapdi (Mangetout) ki Sabzi:
- Wash the veggies and pat them dry. chop the ends and cut them in medium size pieces. Steam them for around 15 minutes.
- Roast the peanuts and peel the skin and grid them in a mixer. Chop onions and dice the potato.
- Heat 2 tbsp Oil in a pan and add mustard and cumin seeds. Once they splutter add chopped garlic and sauté for 3 minutes
- Add diced potato and sauté for 5 minutes and then add chopped onions and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Add salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder and mix and sauté for 3 minutes and add the ground peanut powder and mix well. Then add the steamed vegetables to it and mix well and keep a lid over the pan for 2 to 3 minutes
- Then add dry mango powder and mix well and cook for 3 minutes. Add chopped coriander to garnish. Serve hot with Roti and Mango pickle. Bon Apetite.
